Adore Him

Greetings in the name of the wonderful Lord Jesus. Sunday night December 18th at 7:00 the youth and children of Mossy Grove have partnered with our adult choir to bring the Christmas play, “Adore Him”. I hope you will be able to make it. The play will take us through the Christmas nativity in a very fresh way. I appreciate so much all the hard workers at Mossy Grove. So many have contributed to the ministry here this past year.

I am already looking forward to what God is going to do in 2017. We have plans of expanding our seating capacity, we have two new staff members (see Staff Directory under About), and our Sunday School is growing again! If you are not attending Sunday School let me encourage you to do so. Our theme for the New Year will be “More Than Just Information”. Our teachers do more than just share Bible information, they bring lessons each week aimed at impacting lives. The Word of God is quick (living), powerful and sharper than any two-edged sword. The Word of God is profitable and we are to study to show ourselves approved unto God. The Psalmist tells us that God is revealed in the volume of the book. Come to Sunday School and experience the life impacting power of God’s Word.

Well Christmas Day this year is on Sunday, and we will only have one service at 11:00 AM so that our families can spend quality, uninterrupted time together on this special day of the year. Remember to make room for Jesus. Sunday night I preached about this very subject and gave three practical ways to make room for Jesus. I used Hebrews 13:13; “Let us go forth therefore unto him (that is unto Jesus) without the camp, bearing his reproach”.

They did not have room for him at the inn, but we must make room for Jesus in our lives. First there must be Initiation. That is we must Go Forth, do the things that brings us close to God, seek Him daily. Secondly there must be Separation. Go after Him without the camp, Jesus was crucified outside the camp, separated. We must separate ourselves from the world, living holy separated lives. And lastly, Identification. Bearing his reproach. If we truly separate ourselves from the world, get ready for persecution, they hated Jesus and they will hate us.

From all the folks at Mossy Grove we wish you a safe and blessed Christmas Season. Make room for Jesus this year like never before.
